Electric air for foundation grouting and anchoring at a large hydropower project in southwest China
The project lies in a high mountain gorge. Dam foundation and slope treatment required anchor drilling and consolidation grouting at the same time, with many air points over a long schedule. The site is far from towns, so diesel had to be hauled in at high and uncertain cost; some faces were underground, where diesel exhaust adds to ventilation load; and diesel engines lose power at altitude.
All units run on the site grid, so diesel storage and haulage were eliminated; no exhaust in the caverns eased ventilation; and output was unaffected by thin air, avoiding the derating diesel units suffer at altitude. The units ran steadily through the main construction period and met the air demand for foundation and slope treatment.

11 applications covering the main air demands of construction — from foundations and slopes to tunnels and solar farms

Sandblasting
Surface preparation of hull blocks and steel structures needs high flow for long hours; oil content and pressure stability decide the finish

Shotcrete
Shotcrete uses a lot of air at modest pressure — a classic low-pressure, high-flow duty where a matched unit saves power over a throttled high-pressure one

Foundation drilling
Foundation treatment and underground works at large hydropower projects often run several units in parallel, grouped by pressure for anchoring, grouting and hole cleaning

Geothermal drilling
Designed depths beyond 1,500 m, with water from several zones on top of friction losses — we calculate the rated pressure from altitude and depth

Water well drilling
Wells of 150–250 m through sandstone and weathered zones: dual-duty units cover high-pressure deep drilling and high-flow well development

Tunnelling
Drilling, shotcreting and mucking alternate all day — the DMT Series' full-range variable-speed drive removes the idle running of fixed-speed units

Cable blowing
Cable blowing needs steady medium-pressure, high-flow air; the work moves along the duct, often at night in town, so noise is the key concern

Solar pile drilling
Solar mounting piles mean many holes and constant moves, usually without grid power; sand and big temperature swings test filters and protection

Slope anchoring
High-speed-rail cut slopes need deep anchor holes, often with casing through broken ground; the compressor sits at the toe, so hoses are long and losses high

Bridge piling
DTH drilling and casing advance for bridge piles: large diameters and deep rock sockets need continuous high-flow, high-pressure air to clear the hole

Road construction
Blast-hole drilling in mountain road cuts, slope work and urban road breaking — the unit moves with the working face

Electric air for foundation grouting and anchoring at a large hydropower project in southwest China
With site power available, M Series electric portable units were chosen: the DM250-31/25 (31 m³/min @ 25 bar) for high-pressure anchor drilling and DM185 units for medium-pressure grouting and hole cleaning. Motor output is unaffected by altitude and no fuel is needed.
DM250-31/25, DM185 series

Air supply for underground powerhouse tunnelling at a hydropower project in southwest China
A DMT tunnel unit was used: a permanent-magnet variable-speed drive loads to the actual demand curve, with a multi-layer acoustic canopy and isolation mounts.
DMT250-56/8

Air supply for fibre cable blowing on a telecom duct project in south China
An LG Series electric unit was chosen: its low-noise acoustic design meets urban night-work limits, and its output is matched to the blowing equipment to avoid wasting energy.
